A very important note about the author: Originally penned as J R Roberts the author name was changed as there is another author, Robert J. Randisi, who goes by various pseudonyms including the pen name of J. R. Roberts who has written the Gunsmith series of westerns. I am not this person.

 

The book hit an unexpectedly higher level of sales during an ad campaign to obtain beta readers and there was confusion between authors. Since we are entering third-party marketing, I have chosen to use my middle name of Reese. Going forward my author name will be J Reese Roberts.

As a former assistant professor, I have primarily written non fiction books and essays about colleges and universities. This is my first novel.  This is a story that I have held inside my heart for so long, and I have at last found the time to pen the prose. It has taken many years to write. 

​

Many who have read the book have asked why this is not published by a major company. The fact is, I have sent the book to no literary agents in the industry. I have decided to donate the book royalties to one or two children's charities and, based on several discussions with them, they would not be interested as income is based on a percentage of royalties. I will be submitting to publishers although I will not have the backing of a literary agent.

However, I can assure you this novel has been through many writings, several editors, and hours upon hours of research. My former students will attest to my obsession with English grammar. Plot and character development along with powerful descriptions and the desire to know what happens next, will keep you page turning until you have finished.

So as I tell all who venture here: Keep your seat belts fastened and your seat backs in the upright position...it's going to be a bumpy (but intensely exciting) ride.
